 Thématique de recherche

 Ma recherche porte sur le contrôle moteur. Je m'intéresse à la capacité de notre système nerveux central à maintenir la précision de nos mouvements en dépit des changements environnementaux, physiologiques ou pathologiques auxquels nous sommes soumis tout au long de notre vie. Cette recherche vise non seulement à révéler les principes fondamentaux et les substrats neuronaux sous-jacents de ces mécanismes d'adaptation mais également à développer des méthodes de stimulation de ces mécanismes afin d'améliorer les performances motrices dans le vieillissement sain ainsi que les pathologies motrices neurodégénératives, tels que la maladie de Parkinson ou l'ataxie cérébelleuse.

J'utilise une variété de méthodes pour mener à bien mes travaux de recherche. Une approche comportementale me permet de décrire les principes fondamentaux des mécanismes d'adaptation des mouvements oculaires et du membre supérieur. La stimulation transcranienne non-invasive telle que la stimulation transcranienne magnétique (TMS) et la stimulation transcranienne par courant direct (tDCS) est un outil précieux pour explorer les substrats neuronaux de l'adaptation. Enfin, le travail avec des populations de patients souffrant de troubles moteurs tels que la maladie de Parkinson ou l'ataxie cérébelleuse permet également d'identifier les bases neurales de l'adaptation.
